Jacqueline van Essen specialises in data protection and privacy laws, rules and regulations; drafting and negotiating contracts (including general terms and conditions, agency/distribution and franchise); and corporate and commercial litigation.

Jacqueline publishes regularly and gives courses in the field of privacy law. She is a member of the Corporate Litigation Association (Vereniging Corporate Litigation), the Association Privacy Law (Vereniging Privacy Recht) and the Dutch Association for Information Technology and Law (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Informatietechnologie en Recht).

Jacqueline graduated in industrial engineering and management science from the Technical University of Eindhoven in 1998 and worked for a year as a project specialist. She graduated in Dutch law from the University of Tilburg in 2000 and joined NautaDutilh in 2001, since when she has also completed the Grotius Academy specialisation course on corporate litigation. Jacqueline was named Associate Partner in the firm in 2008.
