Margaretha Wilkenhuysen, a partner in our corporate practice, specialises in cross-border corporate transactions, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and international corporate restructurings. Margaretha also has extensive experience in corporate finance.

Her clients include major international corporations and she has represented both domestic and international clients in a variety of high-end transactions.

Prior to joining NautaDutilh in 1997, Margaretha has practiced law for several years at another highly respected law firm. Margaretha received her law degree from the University of Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, KUL) in 1991, a master’s degree in business and tax law from the Free University of Brussels (Université Libre de Bruxelles) in 1993 and an LL.M. from Duke Law School in 1996.

Margaretha has published various books and  articles e.g. Due Diligence (2011-new edition) and Cross Border Mergers (2011).
Margaretha is member of the IBA (International Bar Association), the EVCA (European private equity and Venture Capital Association) and the Duke Alumni Association.

Margaretha has been nominated in 2011 and 2012 as a Leading Lawyer for the IFLR 1000 and has been quoted by one client as saying, "Her knowledge of complex law is strong."

Margaretha was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 1993 and to the Luxembourg Bar in 2007.


Margaretha is fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.
