Elke Janssens focuses on corporate law, public and private M&A, and corporate governance issues. Indeed, Elke's background in both law and economics is highly appreciated in M&A transactions. She advises both listed and unlisted companies and is regularly involved in restructuring transactions, as well.
Elke received her law degree from the Vrije Universiteit van Brussel (VUB) in 1996. In 1998, she obtained an LL.M in business law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), followed by a master's in management from VUB in 2001. She also completed coursework in the Solvay Business School's MBA programme in 2006-2007. Elke was admitted to the Brussels bar in 1997 and joined NautaDutilh in 1999.
Elke is the author of numerous publications in the fields of corporate and financial law. She is also a member of the editorial board of various law journals (T.Fin.R, RABG, TVS, NV in de praktijk) and regularly speaks at seminars.
After being a part-time assistant lecturer, Elke was appointed in 2001 to VUB's Business Law Department, where she is a driving force in the Business Contracts Unit (BuCo), whose purpose is to foster ties and cooperation between academia and business. In this capacity, Elke organises various workshops and seminars. Owing to her academic background, Elke is skilled at coming up with creative solutions to her clients' problems at short notice.
In 2012, NautaDutilh's Corporate team was named Corporate Law Firm of the Year at the Belgian Legal Awards.
