A large part of our practice is focused on commercial liability. Our team is regularly engaged by insurers to defend the interests of their policyholders if they are held liable. Such liability can result from contracts or from unlawful acts.

 

We also deal with consequential loss in the construction sector. NautaDutilh’s Insurance & Liability team is acting for example for the Tarwewijk building consortium in the settlement of a large damages claim after a tower crane toppled onto a building. Our lawyers are also assisting with a claim for damage caused when water entered the archive room in a town hall as a result of building work. We are also advising on an alleged case of paint overspray from a shipyard to a neighbouring industrial site where thousands of cars were being stored.
