How can we help you?

The proposed EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDDD), part of the European ‘Green Deal’, introduces human rights and environmental due diligence obligations for certain companies. A company risks civil liability in case of non-compliance. Our Corporate Governance team advises clients on how the CSDDD applies to their company and business partners. This can be part of a broad ESG Audit (as set out above) or a separate legal advice. Our contract team assists clients with the implementation of their ESG strategy as well as the requirements under the CSDDD into material contracts.

This is what we offer our clients:

  • Advice on the application and scope of the CSDDD.
  • Advice on potential litigation risks and prospective protection against CSDDD-based claims.
  • Review of existing contracts with partners and suppliers to align agreements with CSDDD obligations (e.g. data provision by partner, wording ESG commitments and targets, termination options based on ESG shortcomings).
  • Drafting and adjusting partner and supplier contracts for compliance with ESG strategy and CSDDD compliance.
