A team of 30 students at the TU Delft achieved the highest overall score and won the first prize in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, which was held in California from 27 to 29 January. The competition was organized by Elon Musk for the purpose of developing a high-speed ground transportation system. Several students from the team will continue under the name HARDT and further develop such system, which is also known as Hyperloop.

A festive homecoming event was held for the team at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in The Hague on 16 February. The event was attended by the CEO of the Dutch Railways (NS), Roger van Boxtel, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Henk Kamp, and the chairman of the TU Delft, Tim van der Hagen. Mr. Van Boxtel announced at the event that NS Innovatiefonds, together with the investment fund UNIQQ, invests in HARDT in order to boost the development of the Hyperloop technology.

NautaDutilh advises NS Innovatiefunds on its investment in HARDT and other investments in Dutch innovative start-ups in the mobility sector. "NautaDutilh proactively advised NS Innovatiefonds on its initial investments. We appreciate the investment made by NautaDutilh", said the fund manager of NS Innovatiefonds.
