Compliance with the Pension Funds Code

On 19 December 2019, the Pension Funds Code Monitoring Committee ('the Monitoring Committee') published its 2018/2019 report on compliance by pension funds with the Pension Funds Code.

The Monitoring Committee investigated how pension plan participants feel about the thematic standards of the Pension Funds Code 2018, with pride of place given to the first theme, 'instilling confidence'. In this context, a research firm surveyed the opinions of current and former pension plan participants as well as pensioners on 13 standards. The Monitoring Committee also held discussions with sector actors, focusing in particular on the theme of 'instilling confidence' and the role of the supervisory board. The DNB's study on the diversity of pension fund boards was also taken into account.

Internal whistleblowing reporting system due by 17 December 2023

Under the Belgian Whistleblowing Act, every legal entity employing between 50 and 249 employees must set up an internal reporting system by 17 December 2023.
