On November 14, 2006 the First Chamber of the Netherlands parliament (also known as the Senate) agreed to adopt the so called Unbundling Act (the "Act"). However, the Act was adopted with an unexpected proviso: the forced unbundling of the Netherlands energy companies will be postponed for an indefinite period of time.
