Faustine Cachera wins CJBL's first annual National Moot Court Competition
After having placed first in the moot court competition (pleading contest) organised by the Young Bar Association of Luxembourg (Conférence du Jeune Barreau de Luxembourg or CJBL), Faustine Cachera, an IP, ICT & Competition associate, will accompany the CJBL's delegation and represent Luxembourg at other pleading contests abroad.
Participants had ten minutes to plead on one of the proposed topics. "I chose the summoning of Bran Stark for failure to assist a person in danger, a reference to the final season of Game of Thrones, which was both epic and disappointing."
This was an ambitious subject that required combining fictional elements with topical issues, while bearing in mind the legal requirements of a summons. Faustine's plea won over the jury, composed of five former judges.
"This experience obliged me to leave my comfort zone, as I rarely have the opportunity to plead in my daily work. I enjoyed preparing my pleadings as much as I enjoyed presenting them."
We hope to see you soon at the formal opening ceremonies of the Brussels and Hauts-de-Seine Bars.
