Inaugural lecture by Marcel Peeters on 'Derivatives: law & risks'
On Wednesday 12 October 2011, Marcel Peeters, who has been named professor of Derivatives Law at the University of Amsterdam, delivered his inaugural lecture entitled ‘Derivatives: law & risks’.
Marcel conducts research from a civil law as well as a regulatory perspective, with a special focus on financial derivatives as instruments of risk allocation and other economic aspects. He also lectures master’s degree students on derivatives law and other financial - law subjects. The Chair in Derivatives Law has been endowed by the Foundation Securities, Markets and Regulation (Stichting Effecten, Markten en Regulering) and is financially supported by NYSE Euronext.
Marcel combines his professorship with his work as a lawyer at NautaDutilh. He is one of fourteen professors at the firm. This academic involvement, combined with a practical approach and a focus on solutions, is what makes NautaDutilh a good business partner.
