Marieke Faber, litigation partner and member of our Sustainable Business & Climate Change team, will chair one of the panels at this year's IBA Annual Litigation Forum 2022. The theme of this year's litigation forum is ‘Climate Change Litigation - Taking the temperature of fast developments, the role of lawyers and tribunals’, and Marieke's panel will discuss climate change litigation against governments.

'The fact that this year's IBA Annual Litigation Forum is fully focused on climate change litigation underlines how much climate cases are on the rise,' says Marieke. 'The panel will give an overview of the current state of play of climate change litigation against governments and look ahead at future developments. We will discuss the role of climate litigation brought by civil society in shaping a state's climate commitments, and also consider the impact of climate-related investor-state arbitration.'

This year's IBA Annual Litigation Forum takes place on 27-29 April 2022 in London.
