Marleen Velthuis speaks about anti-corruption trends at ABA Criminal Justice Section panel
On Friday 28 of June 2019, Marleen Velthuis was part of the panel on global anti-corruption trends of the third White Collar Crime Institute of the ABA Criminal Justice Section in Prague. Along with panelists Jimmy S. Pappas, Vassily Rudomino, Frank Holder, Markéta Císařová and moderator Karen Popp.
Cross border enforcement and internal investigations of anti-corruption allegations continue to be a top area of focus for multi-national companies. This panel explored the various issues presented by this heightened anti-corruption enforcement across multiple countries. Marleen spoke about the recent high settlements in the Netherlands, strong focus on responsibility of individuals, discussions regarding monitoring and judicial review and developments in the Netherlands concerning investigations carried out by attorneys.
