NautaDutilh assisted EIG Partners, a US private equity investor focusing on investments in the energy and infrastructure sector, on its investment in PowerField.

PowerField is a leading company in smart and innovative energy solutions whereby it develop, build and manage solar parks, charging stations and storage systems with an overarching ambition to build the largest virtual power plant in Europe over the coming years. The current investment made by EIG is, together with funds provided by LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg), to support PowerField’s plans to develop an integrated platform on which solar parks, charging stations for electric cars (EVs) and batteries complement each other and thereby contribute to a more sustainable world.

Although EIG’s total assets under management are over EUR 22 billion, its investment in PowerField marks just one of their first investments within the European Union.
