NautaDutilh assists QBE with the establishment of a new Belgian (re)insurance subsidiary to carry out its EU activities post-Brexit
QBE Insurance Group is one of the world's top 20 general insurance and reinsurance companies, with operations in all key insurance markets. QBE has decided to set up a new subsidiary in Belgium in order to centralise its European insurance and reinsurance activities post-Brexit.
NautaDutilh has been assisting QBE for the past year in determining where to establish its new subsidiary. We will now be advising QBE on the implementation of its decision, in particular the financial regulatory and corporate aspects, which entails creating a new subsidiary in Belgium, obtaining a license to operate as an insurance and reinsurance undertaking from the NBB, and opening branches in 9 countries.
NautaDutilh's team consists of Anne Fontaine, Nicolas de Crombrugghe, Dorothée Vanderhofstadt, Pierre de Pauw, Michiel Nuitten and Silke Volckaert.
