Last week, private equity fund Francisco Partners announced to have signed an agreement with McKesson Corporation concerning the acquisition of McKesson Automation. NautaDutilh assisted Francisco Partners as co-counsel of Kirkland & Ellis and advises on civil law and the financing.
Francisco Partners is a private equity fund with headquarters in San Francisco. The fund is mainly active in the technology sector. The investment portfolio is estimated at USD 7 billion and is divided over approximately 100 investments worth USD 50 million to USD 2 billion.
The McKesson group provides integrated pharmacy automation solutions for hospitals and other health care institutions. It is a Fortune 500 company listed at the New York Stock Exchange with a worldwide turnover of approximately USD 93 billion.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2013 and is subject to customary closing conditions.
