Starting in September 2012, Vodafone Nederland and KPN will be engaging in a pilot project that will involve sharing sites and related facilities. NautaDutilh is representing Vodafone in this unique joint venture.

The objective of the pilot project is to see whether shared use of sites and related facilities will result in better coverage, lower network costs for operators and environmental benefits. The project is premised on the assumption that the service quality level to clients will be the same or better. The collaboration is consistent with developments on both the European and global levels, where more and more operators are joining forces in terms of mobile network infrastructure.

At the end of the year, KPN and Vodafone will assess the results of the pilot and determine what, if any, possibilities there are for continuing their collaboration.

The members of the NautaDutilh team were Piet Sippens Groenewegen, Tycho de Graaf and Charles van Sasse van Ysselt.
