Nicky Leijtens, head of legal operations, received the 'Intrapreneur' award by The Financial Times during the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards 2023, which took place in London on 21 September. This award celebrates forward-thinking legal professionals who drive transformative changes within their firms, enhancing efficiency, and delivering significant value to both colleagues and corporate clients.
The award ceremony acknowledges the innovation from law firms and in-house legal teams in Europe. Our company was the first law firm headquartered in Benelux to appoint a head of legal operations. In this role, Nicky initiates and oversees projects aimed at improving the delivery of our services. For example, Nicky played a pivotal role in driving our client experience programme and Project Professionalise and leads our client feedback programme.
“Technological innovation will rapidly change the legal landscape in the years to come. Nicky receiving award shows that innovative thinking has permeated all levels of the firm. Her keen eye for improving the service we provide to our clients is highly valued not only within the firm but also by our clients. It is therefore fitting that Nicky's dedication and hard work is now being recognised by others", says managing partner Lieke van der Velden.
