On Friday 3 April 2020, Het Financieele Dagblad reported that the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy is considering to implement legislation aimed at helping retailers weather the current crisis.

In the most recent issue of a series on the consequences of COVID-19, Wabe Van Enk, editor-in-chief of PropertyNL, argues that the Ministry should be part of the solution while Real Estate Partner David van Dijk MRE MRICS explains why the Ministry should not get involved.
