How can we help you?

  • 12-01-2011

Starting 1 January 2011, all businesses that send advertising material by post must comply with the Advertising Code for the Use of the Postal Filter, which forms part of the Dutch Advertising Code. Such businesses should always check the National Register of Deceased Persons, and may not send advertising material by post to individuals whose details are included in that register. In addition, individuals with whom the relevant business does not have an existing customer relationship ("prospects") may only be sent advertising material by post if they are not registered in the Postal Register (http://www.postfilter.nl/).

It goes without saying that no advertising material may be sent by post to individuals who have informed the business in question that they do not wish to receive such post. Each commercial message that is sent should include a statement that the recipient has the right to object (free of charge) to any further material being sent.
