Tammy Philipsen (UHasselt) Wins 9th edition of NautaDutilh's Interuniversity Moot Court Competition
The ninth edition of NautaDutilh's Interuniversity Moot Court Competition took place on 21 April 2017 at the Brussels Palace of Justice.
The purpose of the competition is to introduce law students at an early stage to the skills necessary for the practice of law (including legal analysis, pleading, rhetorical competence and the ability to anticipate unexpected questions).
18 students were selected to plead a case before a jury composed of law professors, judges and legal practitioners during a quite intensive finals round.
The six best candidates went through to the final round in which they held a final short and powerful plea.
Tammy Philipsen of UHasselt was crowned the winner and secured a summer internship at NautaDutilh, among an iPad Air offered by LexGo. Runner-up was Maxime Caramin (University of Gent - Master 2) and the third step on the podium was for Jihane Farah (Hasselt University - 3rd Bachelor).
