The increasing sustainability requirements for office buildings have been a topic of discussion within the real estate practice for some time now. Landlords and tenants who want to avoid enforcement by the competent authorities must take action. But if sustainability work is to be carried out, what are the rights and obligations of the landlord and tenant?

In this article, Boris and Shauny answer that question by discussing the legal framework of the rights and obligations regarding the implementation of the sustainability requirements. Distinction is also being made between the statutory regulations and the regulations according to the commonly used 'ROZ model'.
