NautaDutilh assisted the lead investors with their respective equity investments in Aikido Security BV in the framework of its Series B funding round. Aikido Security is a Ghent-based tech company focusing on software security solutions for developers. It is one of Europe’s fastest growing software companies. This transaction represents a significant milestone in its growth.

As part of the transaction, class B preferred shares were issued as consideration. The lead investors also acquired shares from existing shareholders in the context of a secondary sale, which were likewise converted into B shares. The total equity investment amounts to approximately $60m. The proceeds of the investments will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes.

We are proud to have supported the lead investors in the $60m Series B funding round of Aikido Security, making it a unicorn. This transaction underscores the strength of Belgium’s tech ecosystem and Aikido Security’s position as a future leader in software security.
