NautaDutilh acts as Belgian local counsel to Meilleurtaux in connection with its agreement to acquire Peasy, a leading omnichannel financial services broker for households in Flanders. This strategic transaction brings together two highly complementary platforms to form the largest omnichannel brokerage dedicated to household financial services in Belgium.

Meilleurtaux, backed by Silver Lake, is already a market leader in France, Belgium and Luxembourg, and entered the Belgian market in 2023 with the acquisition of MiD Finance. Through the acquisition of Peasy, owner of well‑known brands including Hypotheek.winkel and Verzekeringen.be, the combined group will offer Belgian consumers a unified platform supporting the full spectrum of their financial needs, from mortgage and consumer credit to insurance and savings products.

The expanded platform will significantly enhance Meilleurtaux’s Belgian footprint by combining its strong presence in Wallonia with Peasy’s leadership position in Flanders. The transaction also reinforces Meilleurtaux’s long‑term strategy to build a pan‑European marketplace and brokerage platform for financial services.

As part of the transaction, David Geerts, CEO of Peasy, will assume the role of CEO of the combined Meilleurtaux activities in Belgium and Luxembourg, ensuring continuity of leadership and strong local execution.

NautaDutilh served as Belgian local counsel, conducting due diligence, reviewing and negotiating Belgian aspects of the transactional documentation, advising on Belgian corporate, tax and regulatory matters, and issuing legal and tax opinions together with our tax team.

We are proud to have supported Meilleurtaux in this transformative acquisition of Peasy. This transaction marks a significant milestone in the consolidation of Belgium’s financial services market and reinforces the emergence of a truly national omnichannel leader. It was a pleasure to work alongside Degroux Brugère and contribute to the Belgian dimension of this important step in their European growth strategy.
Axel Maeterlinck, partner in Corporate/M&A.
