How can we help you?

The NautaDutilh Sustainability Seminar will take place on Tuesday, 19 November from 13:30 till 18:30 at our Amsterdam office. An afternoon dedicated to exploring the legal fields of tensions in the context of climate change and sustainable entrepreneurship.

Climate change is already leading to a fundamental change in enforceable responsibilities and risks. Are non-legally enforceable rules (soft law) non-binding? What does the Dutch approach to sectoral covenants and the climate agreement mean for what can be expected of enterprises with regard to climate change and human rights? Those who only question whether something is legal, may miss out on the increasingly important dimension of whether it is also right.

The programme consists of a plenary and cross-sectoral break-out sessions. Ed Nijpels, former minister and crown-appointed member of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER), will be the keynote speaker. Mr Nijpels has been active in the field of energy transition for many years. Currently, he serves as chairman of the Dutch Climate Board (Klimaatberaad), in which role he coordinated the negotiations that led to the National Climate Agreement (Klimaatakkoord). We offer seven break-out sessions, for more information (in Dutch) please click here. This seminar will be mostly in Dutch.
