He is specialised in the private law aspects of real estate, both in the context of real estate transactions and legal proceedings. Boris advises clients from both the private and public sectors, including investment funds, project developers, municipalities, landlords and tenants.

Boris also has specific expertise in the real estate aspects of (renewable) energy projects, such as (lease) contracts relating to solar and wind parks. Furthermore, he has specific expertise of, and track record in, hydrogen projects.

    • Assisted a consortium of Dura Vermeer, Heijmans and Amvest in relation to the purchase of the Hunter Douglas site in Rotterdam, including a lease-back of part of the site to Hunter Douglas (2025).
    • Assisted Gunvor Energy on its sale of several of its assets in the Port of Rotterdam to Global Energy Storage (GES) and various other Real Estate projects involving Gunvor's assets in the Netherlands (2022 – 2025).
    • Assisted Stichting Albeda, a major educational institution in Rotterdam, as lead counsel on the development of educational premises, measuring more than 10,000 sqm, to be realized on the former Unilever site in Vlaardingen (2024).
    • Assisted Circle Infra Partners B.V. (Circle) and its shareholders on the sale of Circle to Basalt Infrastructure Partners (Basalt). Circle owns and manages critical shared infrastructure at the Chemelot chemical park in Geleen, the Netherlands (2025)
    • Assisted W.P. Carey on several real estate transactions, as well as renewable energy projects in relation to their assets in the Netherlands.
    • Advised several major real estate investors in the Netherlands on rent escalation clauses and the effects thereon of recent major case law developments (including a supreme court ruling) in that respect, a crucial aspect of real estate transactions and asset management (2023 – 2025).
    • Advises and assists on asset management related matters, such as lease related contracting and litigation, for a broad selection of real estate investors, including PGIM Real Estate, W.P. Carey, Achmea Real Estate, Pubstone Properties, VGP Parks, Circle Infra Partners, Pubstone Properties and many others.

  • Qualifications

    Boris obtained a master's degree in Private Law with a specialisation in commercial property law from Utrecht University (2016, cum laude). Boris has been admitted to the Amsterdam Bar Association.
