Pedro Paraguay is a Senior Tax Associate in the Amsterdam office of NautaDutilh. Pedro frequently acts as Dutch counsel on cross border corporate and finance transactions, having tax aspects involving the Netherlands. Pedro's tax expertise spans several practices including Corporate M&A, Loan Finance, Structured Finance, and Debt and Equity Capital Markets.

Pedro was seconded to the firm's New York office 2022-2023, where he assisted our Dutch finance and corporate partners on US originated cross-border transactions. He continues to provide this support from Amsterdam, working on transactions for major US banks and corporates having tax issues in the Netherlands. On these matters, he frequently works alongside lead counsel, including top US and UK law firms.

In addition, Pedro has specific expertise in Latin American markets. He assists clients with US/EU cross border investment into the LatAm region, as well as from LatAm to the EU and abroad (via the Netherlands). Pedro studied in Brazil and began his career as a qualified Brazilian tax lawyer, fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Dutch. He is now a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB).

    • Louis Dreyfus Company B.V. on the group’s restructuring for the sale of a 45% equity stake to Abu Dhabi-based ADQ
    • Sonae Sierra with legal advice and implementation of the combination of Sonae Sierra Brasil (B3: SSBR3) and Aliansce Shopping Centers (B3: ALSC3) that resulted in the largest Brazilian shopping center company, Aliansce Sonae Shopping Centers SA (B3: ALSC3)
    • on the NASDAQ IPOs of several entities (including InflaRx, pharvaris, trivago, sono motors)
    • Cnova (EPA: CNV), an e-commerce global player resulting from combining Casino's business of Cdiscount in France, Colombia and Asia with Nova Pontocom in Brazil (a company jointly held by GPA and ViaVarejo)
    • Braskem Netherlands and other group companies based in the Netherlands on the set-up of their legal and governance structure in the Netherlands
    • Petrobras with continuing legal and tax issues to Dutch entities of the group, including recent USD 3.25 billion SEC-registered high-yield notes offering
