Maarten Buma is a candidate civil law notary specialised in corporate law. He advises listed companies, family-owned businesses and financial institutions on corporate governance and transaction structuring concerning joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and management participation schemes. Maarten further focuses on issues concerning the identification of UBO's and ownership structures.

Maarten received his LLM in notarial law with honors in 2007 from the University of Utrecht and joined NautaDutilh in the same year. In 2006 he received his LLB in notarial law and LLB in taxation from the same university. He worked at NautaDutilh's New York office in 2012 and 2013.

Maarten regularly lectures and writes on developments in corporate law (in particular corporate governance) and the UBO register.
