Michelle van Doren is a partner in NautaDutilh's Finance Department and heads the firm’s German Desk. She advises both lenders and borrowers on a wide range of finance transactions, with a particular focus on real estate financing transactions.

Michelle has more than eight years' experience in NautaDutilh's finance practice. In 2015, she spent five months' as legal secondee in Deutsche Bank AG's Leveraged Finance Team, allowing her to gain valuable insight into the financial services industry.

Michelle also has litigation experience from her time in the firm's Financial Litigation Department. During her two years in NautaDutilh's New York office, she advised her clients on the Dutch law aspects of US originated finance transactions. Currently, she is working in NautaDutilh's Amsterdam office with a particular focus on the German market and German clients in their cross-border transactions. Michelle was raised in Germany and is fluent in German, English, and Dutch. 

Michelle received her Master's law degree from Maastricht University in 2012 (with highest honors). She is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar.

She also passed the German aptitude test (Eignungsprüfung nach §§ 16 ff. EuRAG) in 2020 and is now qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwältin). She is admitted to the Berlin bar.
