Sjuul Jentjens is a tax lawyer in the Amsterdam office. His practice has a transactional focus. He advises Dutch and international clients on the tax aspects of public and private M&A transactions, including public offers, auction sales, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations. In addition, Sjuul advises on the tax aspects of a wide variety of financing transactions, including acquisition finance, debt/equity offerings, and listings on Dutch and foreign securities exchanges.
Sjuul is a member of NautaDutilh's private equity sector team and regularly acts on behalf of private equity sponsors. In addition, he has recently advised a variety of sponsors on SPAC listings on Euronext Amsterdam.
Some representative recent mandates include advising:
- RTL Group in connection with the proposed merger of RTL Nederland and Talpa Network;
- Aercap in connection with the acquisition of GE Capital Aviation Services;
- Pegasus Europe in connection with its SPAC IPO on Euronext Amsterdam; and
- Advent and Cinven in connection with the acquisition of ThyssenKrupp's elevator division.
According to The Legal 500 (2021), clients describe Sjuul as "knowledgeable, to-the-point and very fun to work with".
Sjuul is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar, the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB), and is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA). He obtained an LLM degree in International and European law from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc degree in Tax Economics from Tilburg University (cum laude), both in 2014. He joined NautaDutilh in the same year. Sjuul was based in NautaDutilh's New York office from 2018 to 2020.
