

Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer Partner
Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer specialises in complex international litigation. He frequently represents issuers, financial institutions and audit firms as defense counsel in class action and multiparty litigation relating to securities, prospectus liability, fraud and financial regulation. Daan regularly acts as Dutch counsel in matters with litigation in both the Netherlands and one or more other jurisdictions, leading to extensive experience in working closely with US, English and German counsel.
On a frequent basis, he advises clients' senior management on matters with high reputational risks. Daan also heads the firm's financial litigation practice.
Daan has been involved in many major class actions and settlements in the courts of the Netherlands and he frequently publishes and lectures on issues relating to class action litigation and collective settlements.
Daan became a partner of NautaDutilh in 2005 after graduating in law from Leiden University in 1996. Daan also holds a degree in classical archaeology from the University of Amsterdam and has published books on art and history. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Vereeniging Nederlandsch Historisch Scheepvaartmuseum, the association which owns the collection of the national maritime museum of the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
