Bastiaan Metselaar
Expertise
Bastiaan works within the Corporate Crime & Business Integrity team at NautaDutilh, where he represents (inter)national companies and financial institutions in matters relating to environmental criminal law, (anti-)money laundering, (anti-)corruption, fraud, sanctions regulations, ESG crime, and economic offences. In addition, Bastiaan focuses on competition law and foreign direct investment (FDI), advising clients on Dutch and European competition law, including merger control, FDI notifications and regulated markets.
Previously, Bastiaan worked within the Public Law & Regulatory practice group, where he advised and litigated on various administrative law matters, including the Open Government Act, environmental law, energy law and subsidy law.
In 2022, Bastiaan completed his master's degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Amsterdam. He also completed a pre-master's degree in Philosophy and obtained his master's degree in European Competition Law & Regulation in 2023. Bastiaan joined NautaDutilh in 2024. He is admitted to the Netherlands Bar.
