Arief van Rhee is specialised in (commercial) property and corporate law. He focuses on real estate development projects, transactions regarding commercial property and property finance. His clients include prominent local real estate asset managers and real estate developers as well as international clients. He advises major national enterprises and acts as counsel on behalf of major banks with respect to property finance transactions. He was part of the team that represented the Municipality of Amsterdam in litigation concerning the new ground lease regime
He lectures at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate (ASRE) and the Masterclass notarial law at the University of Utrecht. He is author of the Sdu Comments to the Dutch Civil Code (Sdu Commentaar Vermogensrecht) title 5.7 (servitudes) and title 5.9. (condominium rights); he also chairs the Royal Dutch Notaries Association for the District Amsterdam.
Chambers Europe ranked Arief again as Band 2 in Real Estate: Leading Notaries in 2021. He is "known for handling real estate investments and finance". He became a partner in 2008. He joined the firm in 2000 after starting his career as a corporate lawyer on Curaçao. Arief graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in both notarial law and civil law. He also studied at the University of Sorbonne-Paris I.
