Edward Rijnhout Associate Partner

Edward Rijnhout specialises in tax law, usually with an international component. He advises clients at home and abroad on the tax aspects of acquisitions, financing transactions and stock exchange listings. As a result of Edward’s Rotterdam focus, his work often relates to the port or energy sector.

He also serves several Portuguese clients with entities in the Netherlands for which he advises on day-to-day tax matters. For instance, Portugal’s largest private business – the Sonae Corporation – has been one of Edward’s clients for more than 16 years.
From 2005 to 2006, he worked at our New York office. 

Interesting cases in which Edward was involved include the IPO of NIBC on Euronext Amsterdam; the acquisition and financing of Diversey Group by Bain; the joint venture of Uber Technologies Inc. with Yandex N.V.; advising Lion Capital LLP and HEMA regarding the refinancing of HEMA; and Frasers Property regarding their agreement to acquire Geneba Properties by means of a block trade and a public offer. Edward became an associate partner in 2013. He started working at NautaDutilh in 2002, the same year in which he graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
