Linda Tomassen is a senior associate in NautaDutilh’s Capital Markets group and specialised in restructuring and insolvency matters. She has a particular focus on cross-border corporate structuring, distressed debt investments and debt-for-equity transactions. Linda has worked on numerous transactions as a capital markets and finance lawyer from the Amsterdam and London offices of NautaDutilh.
Recent highlights in which Linda had an essential role include assisting:
- Floresteca – advising the largest investor in relation to the court-ordered restructuring of the group and composition offered by it to the creditors;
- Universal Music Group – advising a consortium led by Tencent on the listing of Universal Music Group N.V., the world's largest music company, on Euronext Amsterdam
- Royal IHC – advising a syndicate of banks in the restructuring of the Royal IHC group; and
- Pegasus Entrepreneurial Acquisition Company Europe B.V. – advising a SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) and its sponsors, including Tikehau Capital and Financière Agache, with its IPO on Euronext Amsterdam.
Linda regularly presents courses and workshops on insolvency matters, including on the "Dutch Scheme" (formally known as the Act on the Confirmation of an Extrajudicial Restructuring Plan or WHOA after its Dutch acronym Wet Homologatie Onderhands Akkoord).
Linda graduated from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2011, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Financial Economics, and in 2012, where she obtained a Master's degree in Corporate and Insolvency Law. Linda joined NautaDutilh in 2015 after having spent a few years at another international law firm. She was seconded to ABN AMRO's Financial Restructuring & Recovery team and Asset Based Finance team for five months in 2020 and completed the post-graduate INSOLAD/Grotius course cum laude in 2021.
