Marc van der Haegen focuses on capital markets and financial law (particularly securities law) and company law and has an important litigation and arbitration practice in these fields.
Marc has counseled clients on various matters pertaining to financial regulation, the debt and equity markets, public takeover bids and corporate mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises Euroclear Bank and has acted for Suez, Vinci, Total, San Paolo IMI, Cerberus, the Citadel Group, Prosieben Sat 1 and other international groups.
Marc graduated from the University of Brussels in 1972, and holds a post-graduate degree in business law from that same university. He subsequently received a scholarship from the British Council to attend legal courses at King's College London. Marc has lectured on commercial and corporate law respectively at the University of Brussels and the Solvay business school and joined NautaDutilh as a partner in 2003.
Marc is the author or co-author of many publications on corporate and financial law. He was mentioned in the 2009 edition of Chambers Law Directory as respected by peers and clients for his “immense intellect, efficiency, know-how and no-nonsense approach”. He has been named Brussels Banking Law "Lawyer of the Year 2014-2015" by Best Lawyers.
