As a trusted advisor in restructuring and insolvency matters, Charlotte has extensive experience guiding companies through challenging times, whether facilitating out-of-court solutions or representing clients in formal restructuring proceedings.

  • Work highlights

    - Court Litigation & Complex Proceedings. Charlotte has extensive experience representing Belgian and international clients in a wide array of contractual and commercial disputes. She is also particularly skilled in handling complex summary and ex parte proceedings across various sectors.

    - Supreme Court Litigation. She has significant expertise in handling cases before the Belgian Supreme Court (Cour de cassation/Hof van Cassatie).

    - Collective Redress. Charlotte has represented clients in several of the limited number of actions for collective redress (class actions) ever initiated in Belgium.

    - Arbitration. With a robust arbitration practice, Charlotte acts as counsel and has been appointed as an arbitrator and tribunal secretary under the ICC and CEPANI rules. Her expertise spans corporate/M&A, commercial contract disputes, and construction.

    - Arbitration-Related Proceedings. Drawing on her knowledge of arbitration and public international law, Charlotte has acted as counsel in arbitration-related cases involving sovereign immunities, interim relief, recognition, (cross-border) enforcement, and challenges of arbitral awards.

    - In-Court and Out-of-Court Restructuring. Charlotte advises on all aspects of restructuring litigation and has represented company in financial distress in prevention proceedings. She also supports creditors, including banks and financial institutions, in navigating complex situations when their debtors face financial difficulties.

    Lawyer, admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2014.

    French, English, and Dutch.

    Education

    Charlotte graduated magna cum laude from the University of Brussels (ULB) in 2013. In 2014, she obtained an LL.M in Public International Law at Leiden University (the Netherlands).

    Charlotte previously served for many years as a teaching assistant in Public International Law at the University of Brussels (ULB).
