

Maxime Vanderstraeten Counsel
Maxime Vanderstraeten is counsel in the Public & Regulatory department of the Brussels office.
He advises companies and public authorities in all areas of public and administrative law, in particular in the real estate, energy, healthcare, transport and telecom sectors.
Maxime has specific expertise in public contract law, including public procurement, concessions and public real estate transactions. He acts for contracting authorities as well as local and international private companies. He has also developed a practice focused on public contracts of European institutions and agencies, mainly in the context of litigation before the European courts in Luxembourg.
He regularly intervenes in public and administrative law disputes brought before the Council of State, the Constitutional Court and the ordinary courts and tribunals. He has specific expertise in gambling litigation.
Maxime combines his practical experience as a lawyer with academic functions at the Université Saint-Louis (Brussels), where he teaches administrative law.
He is the author of some thirty publications in reference books and journals in public law. He is regularly invited as a speaker at conferences organised in his fields of expertise.
