

Marieke Faber Associée
Marieke Faber leads NautaDutilh’s Dutch Dispute Resolution Practice in the New York office. Her practice focuses on international corporate disputes, which includes M&A-litigation, shareholder and director liability disputes, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) litigation, with a particular focus on climate change litigation and advice.
Marieke has extensive experience litigating before the Dutch courts (in particular the Amsterdam Enterprise Court). She also represents clients in international corporate and commercial arbitrations (e.g. before the ICC or the Netherlands Arbitration Institute). Marieke frequently assists clients requiring pre-litigation counselling or risk mitigation advice. She regularly acts as Netherlands co-counsel alongside US law firms in cross border matters.
Marieke is a member of the firm’s Sustainable Business and Climate Change team. She assists corporates and financial institutions in navigating ESG-related challenges, with a focus on climate-related advice and litigation. She was part of the team representing the Urgenda Foundation against the State of the Netherlands. In a landmark ruling, the State of the Netherlands was ordered to reduce emissions by 25% by 2020.
Marieke is an active member of NautaDutilh's pro bono community. In 2020, she received the Resilience Award at the Gouden Zandlopers (the Netherlands most prestigious legal awards) for setting up a platform providing small business owners with pro bono legal assistance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, Marieke was seconded to the litigation department of a top-tier US law firm in New York. From 2015 to 2017 she was a board member of the Amsterdam Young Bar Association. She is a graduate of Utrecht University in the Netherlands (LL.B (Hons) and LL.M), and obtained her Masters in Management from London Business School.
