The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that public access to the UBO register without legitimate interest constitutes a serious interference with the fundamental rights to privacy and the protection of personal data.
Once the judgement was published, the Luxembourg UBO register has blocked public access to UBO data. Since last week, the access has been restored for certain professionals. More actors with a legitimate interest will see their accesses restored in a later phase.
