Stan publie régulièrement sur le thème de la faillite, des voies d'exécution et de la procédure civile. Il a également enseigné ces matières à l'Instituut voor Insolventierecht de la KU Leuven, dont il est membre.
Il a été désigné comme expert en droit belge auprès des tribunaux à l'étranger. Il a également participé en tant qu'expert à plusieurs projets législatifs relatifs à l'insolvabilité.
Stan est membre du comité de rédaction (section Insolvabilité) de la Revue de Droit Commercial/Tijdschrift voor Handelsrecht et d'autres revues.

Parcours
Stan est diplômé de la KU Leuven en 1993 et a été admis au barreau de Bruxelles la même année. Il a ensuite obtenu un LL.M. à l’Université de Chicago en 1995. De 1996 à 1999 il a exercé la fonction de conseiller au cabinet du ministre de la justice. Il a rejoint NautaDutilh en 2003 et a été nommé associé en 2007.
