Lieke van der Velden leads our Corporate Financial Institutions practice. She advises international and domestic clients on a range of complex corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and management buy-outs. With over twenty years of experience in the market, combined with three years serving on the managing board of NautaDutilh, Lieke is a seasoned negotiator and a trusted sparring partner for senior executives.

Recent representative transactions include advising:
- a.s.r. on its EUR 4.9 billion acquisition of Aegon Netherlands;
- RTL on its EUR 1.1 billion sale of RTL Netherlands to DPG Media;
- a.s.r. on its EUR 510 million sale of the online bank Knab to Bawag;
- ABN AMRO on a variety of transactions, including the acquisition of neo-broker BUX (2023/2024), the sale of its PPI (pension premium institute) to Achmea (2022), the sale of its escrow business to Intertrust (2019), and the acquisition of the Belgian private banking business of Société Générale (2018/2019);
- Van Lanschot Kempen on its acquisition of Wilton Family Office (2025);
- Blackfin Financial Partners and Blauwtrust Groep on the acquisition by Blauwtrust Groep of Romeo Financiële Diensten (2022/2023).

Qualifications
Lieke graduated from Utrecht University in 1995 and joined NautaDutilh in the same year. In 1999, she was seconded to Slaughter and May in London. Lieke became a partner in 2005. In 2017, she was appointed lead partner of the firm’s global Corporate/M&A group. In 2022, Lieke was appointed to serve as managing partner of the firm’s board. In 2025, Lieke returned to full-time practice to lead the firm’s Corporate Financial Institutions practice.
