"We are pleased to have assisted Morrow with this transaction, which represents an important milestone. This financing round will help the company achieve its long-term objective of offering auto-focus technology to as many people as possible", says Corporate M&A partner Philippe Remels.
Morrow NV is a Belgium-based tech company that develops liquid crystal technology solutions for use in glasses with focus-tunable lenses. Its flagship product is autofocusing glasses that allow the wearer to switch focal length with the touch of button, thereby offering a greater level of comfort. A layer of liquid crystals is embedded between two ultra-precise, thin-cut lenses that change orientation when voltage is applied to them. By adjusting the voltage, the lens can be focused or ‘tuned’.
Founded in 2016, Morrow is a spin-off of IMEC (the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre) and the University of Ghent and is headquartered in Ghent, Belgium.
NautaDutilh's corporate team was led by Philippe Remels and also included Louisa Vandepitte and Grace Nonneman.
