IFLR announced the winners of their annual awards in a special podcast from London this morning.
The IFLR Europe Awards celebrate legal innovation in cross-border transactions that were closed in 2019 and recognises the teams and firms behind them.
According to IFLR, the decisive factors that led to us winning the award included our work on several complex transactions, such as the restructuring of Lebara "where the firm's expertise was critical in leading the bondholders and Dutch courts through a relatively untested enforcement process", advising Blokker Holding on its sale to the current CEO and advising De Volksbank on a debut €500 million green bonds issue.
NautaDutilh Managing Partner Petra Zijp: "This is our seventh IFLR award in eleven years. As always, we appreciate this recognition of our people's talent and commitment by IFLR and ultimately our clients. We would like to thank our clients for their positive feedback, and continued trust and support. Especially during these unprecedented times, it is our foremost priority to provide our clients with legal guidance to navigate the complexities relating to the coronavirus crisis."
We are also proud to have been involved in three transactions that have been recognised by IFLR as "Deals of the Year" for 2020: the financing of Bain Capital's acquisition of Kantar (category High Yield), the restructuring of Croatian company Agrokor (category Restructuring) and the financing of Merlin Entertainments’ acquisition by a consortium of investors (category Loan), whereby our Luxembourg office assisted Latham & Watkins on the Luxembourg aspects of the financing.
