Barbara will fill the role of Dean together with Jacqueline Schaap, Partner at Visser Schaap & Kreijger. Barbara and Jacqueline were elected unanimously at the Amsterdam Bar Association's annual meeting on 31 March 2022. This will be the first time that there will be a dual fulfilment of the position of Dean of the Amsterdam Bar.

On 1 September 2022, Jacqueline and Barbara will succeed the current Dean Evert-Jan Henrichs of De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, who has led the Amsterdam Bar for four and a half years.

Both Barbara Rumora-Scheltema and Jacqueline Schaap will remain active in their respective practices and will perform the duties of the Amsterdam Bar's Dean on a fifty-fifty basis.
