Tara Veenendaal Senior Associate


Tara Veenendaal specialises in criminal, administrative and environmental law, with a particular focus on the intersection of these fields, for example in terms of regulation and enforcement. She joined NautaDutilh in 2015 and has advised many companies on issues related to safety, the environment and the Major Accident Hazards Decree (Brzo). She also assists clients dealing with enforcement proceedings, workplace accidents and major incidents (emissions and explosions) and has extensive experience in the areas of compliance, fraud and white-collar crime.

Tara obtained her master’s degree in law with honours from VU Amsterdam in 2014, with specialisations in public and administrative law and criminal law. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology. During her studies, Tara completed an internship at the public prosecutor's office and came in first and second place, respectively, in two moot court competitions. In 2015, Tara was awarded VU Amsterdam’s annual prize for most talented master’s law graduate. In 2020, she earned a post-graduate degree in financial and economic criminal law.
