Marc graduated from Leiden University in 1981. He joined NautaDutilh in that same year and became a partner in 1988. In 1986/1987 he worked on secondment at a New York law firm.
In 1996 Marc obtained a doctorate in law from Tilburg University. His thesis was on the prospectus liability of the lead manager in connection with public offerings in securities. Marc is a frequent speaker at seminars on banking and securities law and has published on a broad range of issues.
He is described in Chambers Global 2007 as "one of the great banking litigators". Marc is identified by Legal 500, IFLR 1000, Global Counsel 3000 and Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Banking Lawyers as a market leader/leading lawyer in banking and finance.
