Catrien is part of the Dispute Resolution team and specializes in financial litigation and restructuring & insolvency. She focuses on proceedings in connection with insolvency, debt recovery and enforcement of security rights. She is also involved in other banking related subjects, such as the termination of banking relationships, consumer loans and bank guarantees. Catrien furthermore engages in ESG-related topics and acts as counsel in complex civil liability suits.

Catrien has been part of NautaDutilh's loan finance team between 2013-2016 and has as such also experience with national and international financing transactions.

    • Assisting Bluestar Alliance with the implementation of the acquisition of Scotch & Soda, upon an acquisition out of the bankruptcy.
    • Defending Van Lanschot against a EUR 1.4M claim based on a pretended right of pledge.
    • Representing Credit Agricole CIB in summary proceedings regarding a EUR 39.5 million claim under bank guarantees issued on behalf of Boskalis in relation to a Russian LNG-project.
    • Representing the trustees of D-Reizen in summary proceedings to get a trademark-pledge released in order to allow the D-Reizen concern to continue as a going concern.
    • Representing Koninklijke Horeca Nederland, both in summary proceedings and proceedings on the merits, against the Dutch government in relation to covid-measures.
    • Assisting a syndicate of lenders in the restructuring and refinancing of Royal IHC in 2020, including the successful implementation through the enforcement of a share pledge before the Netherlands Commercial Court.
