Teun Struycken is a partner in the banking & finance group of NautaDutilh in Amsterdam. He specialises in the law on restructuring & insolvency, secured transactions and asset based lending.

  • Restructuring

    Teun has substantial experience with the restructuring of multinational and domestic groups of companies, and advises both lenders and borrowers. Representative matters include the cross-border restructuring of European Directories, Schoeller Arca, Endemol, Vivacom and Pfleiderer, and the domestic restructuring of Kroymans, Thieme, Selexyz, Phanos, Koop and VSL.

  • Asset based lending

    Teun is specialised in asset based lending, both domestic and trans-Atlantic. He has drafted model credit and security documentation for several banks and advises and litigates on key legal issues concerning security interests and property rights (in particular for ABN AMRO Bank, Rabobank, ING Bank, Deutsche Bank Nederland and several foreign banks).

  • Qualifications

    Teun graduated from Leiden University in 1992, from University of Paris Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) in 1993 (DEA Droit privé général), from Oxford University in 1994 (M.Jur.) and from Nijmegen University in 2007 (Ph.D., cum laude). He was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School during spring 2002. Teun is a Professor of European Property Law at Utrecht University Law School. He joined NautaDutilh in 2002. In light of NautaDutilh's 295th anniversary, Teun spoke about the benefits, challenges and rewards of combining the practice of law and academia
