On 4 April 2022, the Litigation Chamber of the Belgian Data Protection Authority (BDPA) handed down two heavy fines of 200,000 EUR and 100,000 EUR respectively to Brussels Airport (Zaventem) and Brussels South Charleroi Airport.

They received this fine for breaching the GDPR in relation to temperature checks of passengers carried out in the context of the fight against Covid-19 (respectively decisions 47/2022 and 48/2022).
