Daan Hannema is a member of our Corporate Arbitration, Litigation and Insolvency team. He advises and litigates on matters relating to corporate law, commercial law and insolvency. Prior to joining the Corporate Arbitration, Litigation and Insolvency team, Daan worked at our Corporate/M&A practice where he advised Dutch and international clients on both national and cross-border mergers, joint ventures and acquisitions.

  • Qualifications

    In 2016, Daan studied for one semester at the Washington University in St. Louis, USA. In 2017, he earned his LLM in Corporate Law from Utrecht University - and joined NautaDutilh the same year. In 2024, he completed the postgraduate specialisation course Grotius Corporate Litigation (cum laude).

    Daan was based in the firm's New York office from September 2017 through August 2018, where he handled cross-border matters involving Dutch corporate law and Netherlands law aspects of international finance transactions.

    Daan is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar.

    • Acting for an independent director in inquiry proceedings before the Enterprise Court brought by one of the depositary receipt holders for shares in Nardinc Beheer
    • Mc-Dermott – summary proceedings on behalf of the company against a demand for the production of exhibits
    • Acting for Triodos Bank in successfully defeating a petition for inquiry proceedings before the Enterprise Court (2022-2023)
    • Acting for HAL in its statutory buy-out proceedings to obtain all remaining shares in Boskalis after its successful offer for Boskalis at an equity value of EUR 4.2 billion
    • Acting for HAL in ICC arbitration proceedings and Dutch court proceedings against EssilorLuxottica concerning the sale of HAL's stake in GrandVision
